The FNQLEDC is known to be a service-oriented organization, controlled at the local level and based on concerted efforts and decision-making by consensus. The FNQLEDC works with all its members which are the Community Economic Development Officers (CEDOs) and their economic development organizations and is respectful of the local autonomy and political allegiance and has the support of different partners of the First Nations.

The FNQLEDC is an organization which shares knowledge and recognizes the access to “quality information” as an essential condition to make a decision in the best interest of the community. The Commission devotes its efforts to the support, training and promotion of its members, and to the socio-economic development of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador insofar as the actions meet the needs of the members.
